This is the full length of the rod sleeve in inches. A 7' rod uses a 65" sleeve. Measure from tip to where you want the sleeve to end.
The length in inches from the tip to the bottom largest guide. This measurement is for the part of the sleeve that tapers out from the tip. On a 7' rod it usually measures about 48".
Wrap a piece of paper around bottom guide and rod, mark where it overlaps and measure. Ususally between 5 1/2" and 7 1/2". This is how big around the bottom of the sleeve is to fit over the big guide
